1- Empty the refrigerator:

As every organizing project it is important to take everything out from the refrigerator. That way you can examine the space and get a better perspective of how to take advantage of it, it’s also a good way review everything you have in order to check condition and expiration of each item. If you have a large refrigerator, it is very common that there are things that you never use and that is taking up a lot of space.

2- Cleaning:
In a spray bottle mix vinegar, water, dish soap and start cleaning. Using a microfiber cloth clean top to bottom, trays, sides, and all nook and crannies.

3- Remove all parts if possible

We recommend removing and washing separately all types of removable trays that your refrigerator may have, this will allow you to remove everything that could be stuck to the surface, such as syrup, jams, etc.

This will also allow you to clean all corners, edges and rubbers. Sometimes dirt accumulate on these hidden areas creating a bad odor.

4- Containers:

Containers are great to help you keep your refrigerator organized over time. We recommend using them to classify your products, as it would not make sense to use them and keep any kind of order. That way everyone in the family will know each type of container and will know where to leave it. And make sure everyone knows where to put things back. You can even label each container!

5- All visible items:
It is very important to have everything in the refrigerator in view. That is why I personally like to accommodate everything in a way I'm able to see it. This will help you to notice what you actually have and when things are about to expire. When choosing containers for the refrigerator, I prefer to go for clear containers.
